Get to Know Me: 7 Facts

Dear readers and friends,

It's been hard for me to write this post. I wrote it a few times, but then scrapped each draft. And I am currently writing from the start again. Ah, well, it's a personal blog, so I think it might even be best to be writing in the moment, anyway, wouldn't you agree? n_n

If you couldn't tell from the title of this entry, I wanted a chance for us to get to know each other better... or, heck, I might as well just say it: a chance for you to get to know me better, since this blog is mainly all about me :P I can't help it that that's the nature of the medium! Hehe. Feel free to comment though, anything you like. I promise I don't bite! And maybe then we will get a chance to get to know each other better n_n

Without further ado, here they are, seven facts about me. Fun and interesting facts about me, with pictures from my past (!), after the jump :)

1. Music is my first love. Better than having sex, maybe. Hehehe. Okay, maybe that's a lie.

I have a bunch of "mood playlists" that I've made on Spotify, but they're not, like, typical "moods". For example, I have two very similar playlists, which are "cloudwalking", and "dream studying". Both have dreamy, watery-quality songs. But there is a distinct mood division between them, one for daydreaming and the other for night time introspection. I sometimes test Max and ask him which playlist he thinks the song playing belongs to :p

 2. Spanish is my second love. It took me a long time to admit just how much I love Spanish, and Spain. I thought I couldn't possibly just fall into something I would dedicate my life to, that I had to make a more deliberate choice. But it's true. Spanish language and culture just have always reached me even when nothing else could. I want to learn how to dance flamenco. Max and I want to retire to Spain, and own a condo on the beach there one day. I want to gain a Master's in Spain, or at least study there for a year. And ultimately - the culmination! - I want to become a Foreign Languages teacher n_n

3. Three is my favorite number. So it's not so bad that I have two other loves before Max n_n He's my baby angel!

4. Björk is my bae. I would pay thousands of dollars to go and see her live, and actually I once did! The time I went to Spain for two weeks it was to attend a music festival where she would be performing. But then two things happened: 1) I booked my trip for the wrong month, because I confuse June with July. 2) She had to cancel her performance anyway, 'cause she had vocal nodes at the times, my poor bae ;_; But actually, that was a good thing, 'cause I would have been kicking my own ass a lot more harshly if it was solely through my own fault that I missed her!

5. I have depression. It went undiagnosed for I don't know how long - roughly a decade. I finally started getting help for it, seeing a therapist, and taking medication, and it has helped me to get so much better.

6. If these things mean anything to you, I am an INFP on the Meyers-Briggs personality scale, and an Aries. I used to take more stock in the Meyers-Briggs scale, and I would tell anyone who asked my astrological sign that "I'm an Aries, but I'm the least Aries-like person you will ever meet." But actually, now, I do see the ways in which I am a very fiery individual.

Call it silly superstition if you like, but I do put some stock in the alignment of the stars and the time of my creation/conception. Hehe. I wish I knew the exact time I was brought into this world, so I could know not only my sun sign but also my moon sign. But alas, my parents don't remember, and the time is not listed on my Vietnamese birth certificate! ;_;

7. I buy silly things sometimes. I love shopping. And sometimes I make amazing, impulsive purchases. Like this necklace!
